Anni Oja´s The Moustache won Risto Jarva Prize in Tampere Short Film Festival

Turku Arts Academy graduate in animation, Anni Oja, has won a Risto Jarva Prize in Tampere Short Film Festival´s national competition 2016. The prize is for up coming film maker and it´s value is 10 000 euros. Anni Oja´s film The Moustache ( Viikset) is an animated puppet animation. It tells a story in which town is not big enough for the two men. Nor their moustaches.

Film was edited by Anna Vepsäläinen and it´s sound was designed By Janne Helenius and Anni Oja. Both Anna and Janne are studing in Turku Arts Academy.

The jury stated that the film is ”an excellent and coherent whole from the viewpoint of visuality, technique, sound design as well as narration” and that ”despite her young age the filmmaker proves her mastery of the art and manages in a funny and clever way to tell a story with a deeper meaning.” The Risto Jarva Prize Jury was formed by Susanna Viikset1Haarla, Mazdak Nassir, and Sari Väänänen.

The festival´s  national Jury also granted a diploma of merit to Viikset (The Moustache) 

The film has been awarded earlier also with 1st Prize Hamburg Animation Award, 2015. Mejor Corto Stop Motion in Cartón Buenos Aires, 2015  and Best Academic Film Award, Montreal Stop Motion Film Festival, Canada, 2015
