Risto Honkasalmi’s film “Matu” will be shown on Yle Teema 27.5.2012 at 21:55. “Matu” is Honkasalmi’s graduate movie from Turku Arts Academy (2010).

This fiction film tells a story of a young man called “Matu” who is doing his non-military service in an institute for mentally disabled adults. He hates his job and the most important things in his life are friends, girls and partying. At the institute lives a mentally disabled patient “Jaakko” who would give anything to be friends with “Matu”. The theme of his movie came from his personal life, which involves mentally disabled person. Risto says: “To learn how to show, you have to learn how to see.”
