The Demon of Midday in preproduction in Prague

Filmmaker Fýr Romu, Turku Arts Acadedy Film alumn 2012-16, is fine tuning preproduction on his MA graduation film Midday in FAMU, the renowned Czech film school in Prague.
Fýr told us that “Midday is currently in preproduction. We work on visual planning, creating concept art, camera tests, and the storyboard. At the same time, the struggle to gather funding is going on, including negotiations with companies and continuing with our crowdfunding campaign.”

The auditions for the actors will be held on June-July, and rehearsals will start after that. Technical preparations – camera tests with actors and real locations, effects design and visual planning will take place at the same time.
The film will be a fantasy short film, with demonic possession as an allegory for depression and the psychotherapy process. Spirits, witches, and shape shifters live in a world close to ours, except magical beings do exist. Midday tells the story of Fern, a young woman possessed by the demon Midday.
First screening of Midday is scheduled for February 2022 at FAMU. After the premiere, the film will be seen in as many international film festivals as possible.
