Turku Arts Academy animation students were awarded prizes in Helsinki Short Film Festival
Helsinki Short Film festival will present a wide range of the recent Finnish short films and some exciting shorts from around the world. Traditionally the best Finnish short films will be awarded in the professional filmmakers’ and film student’s categories as well as in the category of contemporary films. Furthermore, the best new Finnish animation will be given an award.
This year, 2012, Helsinki Short Film festival gives Best New Finnish Animation Award to Jenni Rahkonen´s When One Stops and Honorary Mention to puppet animation Over and Out, made by Elina Kylmänen, Kari Pieskä and Tapani Tolonen.
When One Stops is a graduation film and Over and Out is a puppet animation film made during the studies as an exercise film. The directors are now working with their graduation films which will be released in spring 2013.
