TUAS Arts Academy is looking for Senior Lecturer in Animation in the degree programme of Fine Arts. The employment relationship of indefinite duration, starting on 17 August 2020.
The primary duties in this position include teaching, training and RDI (research, development and innovation) activities in the field of animation (especially artistic animation). The role also involves teaching and training tasks in other degree programmes in Arts Academy and elsewhere at TUAS.
Qualification requirements
A successful candidate has completed a Master’s degree and has at least three years of practical experience in tasks corresponding to the degree (Government Decree on Universities of Applied Sciences 1129/2014). In addition, a successful candidate has completed vocational teacher’s pedagogical studies (60 ECTS credits). In case the candidate has not complete these studies, they shall be completed within a reasonable time from the start of the employment relationship. Lack of pedagogical studies will lead to a salary deduction on the basis of insufficient qualifications. Based on the above-mentioned decree, TUAS has decided that instead of the requirements regarding degree and practical experience, applicants may be required to possess such artistic merits that are necessary in order to carry out the duties involved in the position.
The selected candidate is expected to have both competence and experience in teaching artistic animation as well as proof of artistic activities. In addition, we expect a vision of working processes, modern working methods and future of animation, as well as strong interaction skills and willingness and readiness to participate in education development, international activities and project work.
The role requires good written and oral skills in Finnish or in English language.
The Senior Lecturer’s total annual working time is 1624 hours.
A six-month trial period is complied with.
A link to the digital artistic portfolio of the applicant must be attached to the application.
Some applicants will be invited to demonstrate their proficiency. This consists of a demonstration lesson and an interview. The selected applicants will be informed about the date and the means of both the demonstration and the interview at a later time.
Before the start of the employment relationship, the employee shall present an acceptable doctor’s certificate on their health (AVAINTES Chapter 1, Section 5, Subsection 2).
